Atlantic Street Center
Programs for low-income children, youth and families of color in Seattle’s
central and southeast neighborhoods.
Therapists provide mental health counseling for youth and families dealing with
difficult issues: depression, divorce, trauma recovery, unstable life situations,
domestic violence, loss and abuse. Atlantic Street Center services are free to participants.
University District Youth Center
On-site individual mental health, drug, and alcohol counseling for

Seattle Indian Health Board
Individual, couples and family counseling, crisis intervention, medications,
and medication management and evaluation. Medicaid and Medicare,
public and private insurance accepted, sliding scale.
Children's Response Center
Serves children and youth under 18 years old in East and North King County who have been victims of sexual assault, abuse, crime and/or traumatic events and their non-offending family members; also children and youth who display sexual behavior problems. Services include crisis intervention, abuse- and trauma-specific therapy, legal/medical/systems advocacy, and referrals. You can also contact them if you are concerned that a child or youth may have been sexually abused/assaulted, and would like to discuss your concerns with someone. Also other related services: education about early identification and prevention of
child abuse and sexual assault, support services for families after the death of a loved one,
etc.
University of Washington Center for Anxiety and Traumatic Stress, This program has a federal
grant through 2015 to conduct research and treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder
(PTSD). Because they receive funding for their research, they are able to
offer no-cost services to eligible individuals who are experiencing
trauma-related problems. Individuals who are 18 years or older may be
eligible for this research study that offers 10 weeks of counseling or

CARES: Collaborative Adolescent Research on Emotion and Suicide
University of Washington and Seattle Children's Hospital have a federal grant to conduct research and
provide treatment for adolescents (13-18) with a history of self-injury.
6 months of individual and group treatment available at no cost for eligible teens. Parental and teen consent is required and
parent/guardian/adult participation is required.
Auburn Youth Resources
Individual and family counseling as well as anger management course for children and
youth ages 5 -19. Accept Medicaid and insurance, sliding fee scale available.
Also has office in Enumclaw.
StepUp
Group counseling for youth who have been violent at home, and support and education
for victimized parents. Safety planning with youth and parents when the youth is being
released from juvenile detention on a domestic violence charge. Community education
about adolescent domestic violence with family members. Call 206-296-7841 to make an

Teaching clinicsTeaching clinics can be a relatively low-cost counseling option, but they are generally not covered by health insurance. If you are insured, then these are probably not your best deal, but if you are uninsured they may be.
Lampson Psychology Training Center (LPTC)
Low cost counseling services provided by supervised student interns or practicum students from Northwest University for those who are underinsured, uninsured or cannot afford therapy. Counseling for children, adults, couples, and families who are experiencing anxiety or depression, have an eating disorder, or have a history of childhood sexual abuse or trauma. The LPTC does not accept or bill insurance.
Seattle Therapy Alliance
Affordable counseling for women "individually or together with their loved ones." Specializing in issues related to women such as depression, anxiety,
grief and loss, addiction, trauma, relationships, parenting and overall
emotional health. Women are eligible for low-cost counseling regardless of
level of income. Cost ranges from $30-50 per session. Training clinic: unable to submit claims to insurance companies.
